initiative is inspired by spiritual science - the work of Rudolf
Steiner and others, who saw art as having arisen from the spiritual streams of antiquity.
These visionaries recognized the spiritual origins of art and
used their insight to develop applications for art in healing and human encounter.
Anthroposophy, the name Rudolf Steiner gave to the modern spiritual path, means "wisdom of humanity". Steiner sought to "connect
the spiritual in the human being with the spiritual in the cosmos".
Arscura takes this statement as its mission, and seeks to manifest
it through art.

Voluntary Service - What an Arscura education can lead to in the world
Vibeke Ball at Hospice King-Aurora
"On behalf of the volunteers and clients of Hospice-King Aurora, I wish to thank you for the involvement of Arscura students and graduates in our programs. The opportunity to explore our creative abilities, helping us move towards self-awareness during times of profound change, is of immense value for us and the palliative and bereaved members of our community. We’re most grateful for Arscura’s interest in supporting our services, and would welcome any opportunity to partner with you in the future."
With warm regards,
Lynda Smith at Pathways
“Lynda Smith began working at Pathways for her student practicum and continued as a volunteer. Through the rapport and art program she developed with these young people, I have seen their self esteem, confidence and trust in adults continue to grow. The impact these relationships with adults and art can have on inspiring youth to reach for their inner talent is truly wonderful. The youth and staff at Home Base have been genuinely blessed to have Lynda Smith continue to work with us this past year. I would like to take this opportunity to thank-you for turning out such talented artists and we look forward to partnering again in the future.”

Malcolm Glover at Sophia Arts
“It is hard to put into words all that Arscura has brought me over the years. How do we measure
inner wealth and those capacities that sustain us and augment our experience of life? These capacities Arscura has given me in a real and tangible way. I simply have to bring to mind the work with all its highs and lows, joys and revelations, to awaken a sense of support and the possibility of transformation that becomes increasingly necessary to live in these challenging times.
For me it has become the source of what I do both artistically and therapeutically which then lives into the people I encounter. The awakening to a spiritual understanding of colour and form and experiencing art in its social aspect was something that art school never gave me.
